1- Luther
Gulick and L. Urwick have coined an acronym for seven functions namely POSDCORB which stands for Planning, Organizing,
Staffing, Directing, Coordinating, Reporting and Budgeting.
2- Henri Fayol given 14 principles based on his experience. They are given
below:
i- Division of work ii- Authority iii- Discipline iv- Unity of command v- Unity of
direction vi- Subordination of individual interest to general interest vii- Remuneration
of personnel viii- Centralization ix Scalar chain x- Order xi- Equity xii- Stability of tenure of personnel xiii-
Initiative xiv- Esprit De Corps.
3- Esprit De Corps means union is strength (Team work).
4-The Three Card Systems is a method introduced by DR S R Ranganathan. In this system, three different cards of the size 5" X 3" are maintained for each periodical. Three cards name is i- Register Card, ii- Check Card iii- Classified Index Card.
5- The accession Register is the chief record of Library.
6- International
Conference on Cataloguing Principle (ICCP) held at Paris in 1961.
7- Cumulative book index
was first published in 1898 by the HW Wilson Company as a monthly.
8- Examples of Open Source Software are KOHA, LINUX, MySQL, DSpace,
OpenBiblio.

10-RRRLF is a central autonomous organization
established and fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
11- RRRLF is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961.
12- RRRLF is the nodal agency of the Government of India
to support public library services and systems and promote public library
movement in the country commensurate with the objectives as embodied in its
Memorandum of Association.
13- The
supreme policy-making body of RRRLF is called the Foundation.
14- RRRLF is consists of 22
members nominated by the Government of India from
amongst eminent educationists, librarians, administrators and senior officials.
15- Since
2005-06 the RRRLF Foundation has also taken up the
initiative to develop the District Youth Resource Centre (DYRC) in
collaboration with Nehru Yuvak Kendra
Sangathana, an autonomous organization
under the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs.
16- RRRLF Foundation's share (Matching Scheme) –For
developed States 50:50, for developing and lagging states 60: 40 and for North-Eastern States 90: 10.
